To answer the call for a high quality black tea, we've used our USDA Organic JinXuan as a base. JinXuan tea plants impart a mild and bright flavor, as well as a smooth and round consistency that the cultivar is famous for. This tea is 100% oxidized and loose leaf: more flavorful than common assam-based teas, yet more traditional and familiar than bold, innovative Taiwanese black teas such as
Ruby #18.
You can taste the difference in quality of the tea leaf: the texture is notably thick and sumptuous, with a clean sugarcane sweetness that coats the tongue evenly and has a long-lasting aftertaste. Try using lower water temperatures of 95 or 96c to draw out the round mouthfeel and mild notes, or the standard black tea style of steeping at 100c for the sharper flavor profile of an assam-based black tea.
