JinXuan teas are often nicknamed “milk oolong,” or NaiXiang(milk scented) in Chinese. The cultivar originates in Taiwan, and has been popular both at home and abroad for decades. This is because of the substantial creaminess of the liquor. The notes are pleasant and comforting, not sharp. We consider milk oolong an excellent tea to pair with cakes and sweets. This is one of the few flavored oolong in our collection.
Steep time should be kept low, to keep the milky flavor balanced. Depending on preference, water temperature should be between 85c and 90c, with ninety seconds or under being ideal. Take care to pour out all the liquor immediately, as over-steeping this tea can prevent a rich and flavorful second or third cup. Enjoy!
