The craftsmanship that goes into creating this tea is undeniable. Our Special Reserve is a single-source, Taiwanese tea grown at an elevation of 1,400 meters above sea level—higher even than the icy peak of DongDing mountain from which all DongDing teas owe their name. This begs the question: why call it a DongDing if it isn’t grown there? DongDing is both a famous mountain and a style of tea preparation; the golden ratio of fermentation to roast to which it owes its fame is elusive and difficult to master with consistency.
Steep this tea at around 95°c for three minutes. Lower temperatures will accentuate plum sweetness, while higher temperatures tend to bring out the flavor of baking spices. Aside from possessing the best qualities of a QingXin in terms of flavor profile and steeping potential, this tea is so lush that it makes the mouth water. We feel that this is what makes our DongDing Special Reserve unmistakable from the first sip.
